Me and my friends often discuss about healthy food. We all work a lot and travel too often to eat properly. To follow a regime isn’t the easiest thing for us. That’s why we try to get to the bottom of things with the topic often and look for solutions to avoid fast food. That’s how we came up to the dilemma – how to eat healthy and properly while working or travelling?

The Solutions!


Self-prepared food for lunch

1. Cook your own food

It’s a quite obvious solution which is probably the best one for your health. If you work in an office and you have a fridge, prepare the food the night before and bring it with you. You can prepare anything and take it with you. The meal should be very nutritious but keep the quantity low. You don’t want to feel clumsy and sleepy during work but you need the energy.

I would like to point out something about vegetables! Never underestimate their importance for your well being. If you want to have a balanced menu, make sure you eat enough veggies and fruits. According to most specialists, a fresh salad before the main course and some veggies – grilled or boiled, it really doesn’t matter, will increase the amount of vitamins and carbohydrate you accept with the food by improving your digest.

Finish the lunch with a fresh fruit or a cup of tea. If you substitute the coffee with tea, at least once a day, you will improve your digestion.

2. Solution number two is quite different but also useful. You don’t have to cook every day.

A pizza once a week or a burger won’t hurt that much. It’s not so much about the burger but about how often you eat them, how you combine them with other food and how much you move. Even if you decide to eat nothing but vegetables and fruits, you still can gain significant amount of weight if you do not exercise and move enough.

A simple solution is to order a salad before the burger and to eat a fresh fruit after it.

Another thing is to allow yourself a burger a week.

Small local restaurants are also a great alternative. They cook well, mostly, and their prices are very acceptable.

3. But let’s say you only can cook sandwiches and quite too often don’t have enough time to do so either. What should you do?

  • Prepare different sandwiches and get a fruit for desert.
  • Try to eat different burgers and pizzas every day.
  • Skip the junk food and replace it with a simple salad and tea.

Following these three tips, even when you don’t have enough time to prepare your own food, you will eat a bit healthier.
